Bringing a '68 Fiberform back to life

Jan 25, 2018

In Classic Corino form, I couldn't help myself from getting ahold of another restoration project. This time it is a 1968 Fiberform Continental. She is 21 ft long and only has 430 hours! Unfortunately, somebody along the way started playing around with the engine and outdrive and mis-matched all kinds of stuff. The little chevy engine in there now has had water sitting in the cylinders and the block is destroyed.

This interior is in amazing shape for it's age. Not even a tear in the original upholstery! The hull has the typical nicks and scratches and, at some point, somebody re-painted the original green color. The boat will need a full repaint. The outdrive and transom assembly will need to be removed so I can assess the transom and perform any repairs it needs.

At this point, I will try to keep this blast from the past as original as possible and only repair what is needed + new paint and then enjoy!

Here are the first pics after I picked her up!

How about these seats?!

Man I love that wheel....

The mess in the back....

So, I would say she is about 95% complete and seems to be only missing the engine cover, one back seat, and misc. engine parts. Everything else is there and ready to restored!

That is all for now. Just a heads up, this will be a s l o w project so updates won't be frequent. But check back often enough!

Thanks for reading!
